私達のふるさと、福島（７）


その夜遅く、私は兄と二人だけになって、放射能汚染について話し合った。その時兄が言ったことは、私にはとてもショックだった。それは原発の近くに住むある酪農家の話だった。私は翌日、念のためにいろいろな雑誌を読みながら、彼の事件を詳しく調べた。その事件は次のような内容だった。
　　　　　　　　　　　　　　　　　　　　　　
　福島原発の近くの小さな村に、ある酪農家がフィリピン人の妻、二人の息子といっしょに平和に暮らしていました。彼は四十頭の乳牛を飼いながら、妻と二人で毎日一生懸命に働き、二人の息子にも恵まれたので、家族みんなで幸福に暮らしていました。ただ子供達がまだ小さかったので、その生活費を何とか稼ぎだそうと思い、借金をしながらも、新しい作業場を建て、酪農の事業を拡大しました。さらに小学校に入学する息子のために新しいランドセルを買って、四月にある入学式を楽しみにしていました。
　しかし三月十一日に起きた巨大津波が原因で、福島原発が突然爆発しました。原発から漏れ出たセシウムは、毎日毎日雨風に流され、村や田畑や森林を静かに汚染して行きました。その汚染は目で見ることもできず、耳で聞くこともできず、鼻で嗅ぐこともできません。そして彼が毎朝刈り取っている牧草の上にも、セシウムの雨風が付着しました。その刈り取られた牧草は、何も知らない牛たちに与えられたので、牛達のミルクには基準値以上のセシウムが含まれたのです。彼は仕方なくそのミルクを毎日毎日捨てました。
　放射能汚染が大人よりも子供たちに危険だと知ったので、その酪農家は妻と息子を、フィリピンへ避難させました。村の子供達もみんなどこかに避難し、結局彼は息子の入学式を見ることができませんでした。でも彼は家族の生活費を稼ぐために村に残り、また酪農の仕事を一生懸命に続けました。それでもミルクに含まれるセシウムは、思うようには減らず、ついに酪農をあきらめ、自分も家族といっしょに暮らすために、フィリッピンへ出発したのです。しかしフィリッピンに行っても、彼は英語もタガログ語も話せなかったので、仕事を見つけることはできませんでした。そして五月になると、彼だけが一人日本へ戻ってきたのです。でももう牛達も家族も村にはいませんでした。彼は根っこを失くした一本の木でした。

　「原発さえなければ」
　と黒板に書き残し
　新しい作業小屋で亡くなられた
　福島の酪農家
　享年５４歳

Our hometown, Fukushima (7)

At late night, I talked of the radioactive contamination with my brother. What he told about a dairy farmer was a great shock to me.
I examined the details by reading lots of articles about him in some magazines. The summary was as follows :

A dairy farmer lived in a small village near
the Fukushima Plant with his Philippine wife and
two sons. His family was happy as he kept about
40 cows and worked very hard with his wife
together every day. He built a new workshop to
earn more money because his sons were still young.
He prepared a new satchel for his elder son
and expected that the entrance ceremony at
the elementary school would be held in April when
the cherry blossoms were in full bloom around
the school ground.
But the Fukushima Plant exploded after a huge
tsunami on March 11. The wind from the plant
spread the cesium all over the fields, mountains
and houses of his village. The cesium stuck all
the grass of his village without being seen,
being heard and being smelled. The milk fro his
cows contained lots of cesium because he fed them
grass which he had mowed there every morning.
He had to throw out all the milk contaminated by
the cesium every day.
Because of concern for the health of his sons,
he made his family evacuate the village and go
to the Philippines in the middle of April. It was
before the entrance ceremony at the elementary
school. As a result, the explosion of the plant
prevented him from participating in the entrance
ceremony.
The farmer remained by himself and kept
working in the village for a while. Though
he worked very hard, the level of the cesium was
high. At last he gave up milking the cows and joined
his family in The Philippines in late April.
However, he was able to understand neither
English nor the Philippine language : Tagalog. So
he could not get a job there and returned to
Japan alone in May. But he had neither cows nor
his family in the village of Fukushima. He was a
tree without roots.

The dairy farmer left this message
on a wallboard of his new workshop,
" If the Plant hadn't exploded,
I wouldn't have killed myself. "
Then he was 54 years old.

J'ai parlé de la contamination radioactive avec mon frère. Ce qu'il a dit sur un laitier　était un grand choc pour moi. J'ai examiné les détails ,en lisant beaucoup d'articles sur lui dans les magazines et journaux. Le résumé est ci-dessous.
Un laitier habitait dans
un petit village près de la centrale nucléaire
de Fukushima avec sa femme philippienne
et ses deux fils. Sa famille était très heureuse,
puisqu'il possédait environ 40 vaches et
travaillait bien avec sa femme tous les jours.
Il a construit un nouvel atelier pour gagner
plus d'argent, parce que ses fils étaient
très jeunes.Il avait préparé un nouveau
cartable pour son fils, et attendait que la
cérémonie d'entrée à l'école primaire se
tienne en avril quand les fleurs de cerisiers
s'épanouissent autour de la cour d'école.
Mais il y a eu une explosion à la
centrale nucléaire de Fukushima, suite
au grand tsunami qui a frappé la région le
11 mars 2011. Le vent a dispersé le césium
de la centrale à travers les champs,
montagnes et maisons de son village. Le lait
de ses vaches contenait beaucoup de césium,
car il les nourrissait avec l'herbe qu'il fauchait
chaque matin. Il a dû jeter tout le lait contaminé
par le césium chaque jour.
Étant inquiet pour la santé de ses deux fils,
il a fait fuir sa famille du village et l'a fait partir pour
les Philippines au milieu du mois d'avril. C’était
avant la cérémonie d'entrée à l'école primaire.
Comme un résultat, l'explosion de la centrale l'a
empêché de participer à la cérémonie d'entrée.

Il est resté tout seul et a continué à travailler à
Fukushima pendant quelque temps. Mais enfin il
a renoncé à traire ses vaches et il a rejoint sa femme
et ses fils aux Philippines.
Pourtant, il n'a pas pu comprendre la langue, ni
trouver du travail là-bas. Il est revenu à Fukushima
tout seul en mai. Cependant il n'y avait plus
aucune vache, ni sa famille dans son village.　Il était
comme un arbre déraciné.

Les laitier a laissé ce message
sur un mur dans son nouvel atelier,
"Si la centrale n'avait pas explosée
je ne me serais pas suicidé."
Alors il a eu 54 ans.
